If you have ever had an animal that you treated like a human, then you know how extremely tough and painful it can be to put your pet to sleep.
Two years ago we found out our boxer (Scout) had cancer in her nose. Long story short, we ended up doing radiation treatment for her at Texas A&M University to help her fight cancer and to extend her life.
We are so thankful for our vet locally, Dr. Lollie Mensik of Country Creek Animal Hosptial and to the vets at Texas A&M Small Animal Hospital for all the help and treatments for Scout.
We are so thankful for the extra time we were able to spend with Scout! Amanda and I are also grateful for modern medicine and the continued research and development in this field.
While the treatment destroyed cancer the first go around, it ultimately came back. Amanda and I had to make a decision you never want to make last month.
We loved Scout so much — we still do! She was an amazing boxer. Seriously the best dog in the world. We had so much fun hanging out with her. She was such a joy to be around all the time. We miss her so much!
Here are a few of our favorite pictures which will give you an idea on how awesome of a dog/human she really was! We love you, Scout!
